We’re hiring Temporary Maintenance Technicians to support a 24/7 chemical production operation at our site inside the Covestro Chemical Complex in Marshall County (New Martinsville, WV). This role is part of the Plant Maintenance/Reliability team and plays a critical part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and long‑term performance of plant equipment.

Retention Bonuses

Responsibilities

  • Support a culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Own and support plant asset reliability using preventive, predictive, and reliability‑centered maintenance techniques.
  • Participate in root cause analysis investigations to reduce downtime and resolve equipment performance issues.
  • Execute planned/scheduled maintenance activities and perform corrective repairs and inspections to prevent equipment failures.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Production, and 3rd‑party resources to prioritize maintenance work and optimize plant uptime.
  • Perform minor facility repairs as directed.
  • Actively utilize the plant’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), ensuring accurate data entry and materials requests.
  • Document all work according to established maintenance processes and compliance requirements.
  • Understand responsibilities for regulatory (PSM) inspections, repairs, and documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with other Maintenance Technicians and Production personnel.

Experience

  • High School Diploma required (Vocational/Technical training preferred).
  • Maintenance or reliability experience in petrochemical/chemical process environments.
  • Ability to interpret OEM manuals, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with millwright, welding/pipefitting, and basic HVAC skills.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing industrial mechanical equipment.
  • Proficiency with CMMS tools and mechanical reliability technologies (e.g., vibration analysis).
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Skillful use of a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with operations, management, and contractors.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
