About the Company
We are a global petrochemical, fine chemical, and food ingredients manufacturing company committed to innovation, safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
We are currently investing approximately $250 million USD into a new greenfield manufacturing site that is in an advanced stage of construction. This facility represents the first of three planned investment phases at the same location and will play a critical role in our long‑term production capabilities.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Buyer to support sourcing and vendor management activities for a new chemical manufacturing plant.
This is an onsite role responsible for ensuring the plant has the equipment, maintenance support, and industrial services needed to operate safely and efficiently. Unlike traditional purchasing roles focused primarily on requisitions and order processing, this position requires direct involvement in vendor sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier evaluation, and service provider selection.
What You’ll Do
- Lead procurement activities related to maintenance spare parts, plant equipment, chemicals, consumables, and industrial maintenance services
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify equipment suppliers and service vendors
- Solicit bids and proposals from vendors
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements
- Issue purchase orders and manage post‑order follow‑up
- Support onboarding of preferred vendors for ongoing plant operations
- Ensure procurement activities align with HSE requirements and contractual obligations
- Maintain accurate procurement records within SAP or a similar ERP system
- Partner with maintenance and operations teams to support plant readiness and operational continuity
- Implement efficient procurement practices to optimize resources and vendor performance
What You Bring
- Minimum of 5+ years of procurement experience within a manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environment
- Experience sourcing both equipment and external services such as maintenance, installation, or repair
- Direct vendor interaction and supplier management experience
- Experience negotiating contracts or service agreements
- Familiarity with INCOTERMS and common industrial trade practices
- Strong technical understanding of plant equipment or maintenance needs
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP is preferred
- Education is not required; relevant industry experience is strongly preferred
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full‑time, permanent onsite position
- Monday through Friday schedule
Compensation & Benefits
- $110,000 – $115,000 annual compensation
